Cascina Boschetti Gomba Barolo DOCG 2013

$341.70 (per Case)

Price per Bottle: $56.95

This wine is an intense, up-front Barolo that is best enjoyed for its exuberant, open personality. Aromas show a lovely delineation in its dark red fruit, smoke, licorice and spices. It wraps softly around the palate with a velvety texture and great finesse. The subtle oak supports the fruit to be front and centre. The wine finishes long and beautifully balanced. Decant and observe the evolution of this wine in your glass. Drink it slowly as your last glass might be the best glass.

The Boschetti estate extends over fourteen hectares of vineyards that are sited on south/southwest facing slopes, a position that the residents of the Langhe call “sorì della sera” (evening sun). The soil, composed of calcareous-clayey marl, is typical of the Tortonian area. Sergio Gomba’s cellar is set in the heart of the Boschetti hill. A large part of the cellar is located underground: a true inner sanctum where the Barolo is aged in oak casks perpetuating the link between the wine and the soil. Passion and strife to achieve excellence inspire the wines produced by Sergio Gomba. His aim is to produce increasingly prestigious wines, with a strong personality and an extraordinary connection to the land of Barolo.
