In 1989 Steininger started with the traditional bottle fermentation. Their mission was to create Austrian sparkling wine by using only typical Kamptal varietals. The single vineyard sparklings’ secret of success is based on two factors. Firstly, the high quality of the base wines, which present themselves clear, fruity and aromatic. Secondly, the gentle 2nd fermentation in the bottle. Both factors together display the character of each varietal and the flavor profile of the base wine. Currently, the aroma varietals are popular. These should be vinified clear with distinct varietal character. Steininger Winery aims to showcase the true characteristics of the fruit highlighted by a fine mousse from the sparkling.

- Rating: 90 from The Wine Enthusiast
- Harvest method: by hand
- Vineyard notes: This sparkling Grüner is from a single vineyard: Steinhaus. The vineyard was named "Steinhaus" (stone house) for good reason. A base of hard, weathered granite with a light humus layer makes up the soil. The vineyard has a slight southwest exposure that offers optimal sunlight. Given this terroir, it is no wonder that the soil produces wines with minerality.
- Fermentation: Méthode Champenoise (Traditional Method)
