The Rabl – Winery look back on a very long tradition. It was first documented in 1750! Today, Rudolf Rabl sr and Rudi Rabl jr are the proud owners of 80 hectares of vineyards. And so the winery is one of the “big shots” in the Kamp Valley. The Rabls cultivate some of the best vineyards in and around Langenlois with different soil types. Schenkenbichl, Käferberg, Steinmassl, Steinhaus (all of them primary rock soils), and Spiegel and Kittmannsberg (both loess soils). Best vineyards and best quality grapes are ideal prerequisites for optimal wines. The focus is on white wines from the grapes Grüner Veltliner and Riesling.  The Rabls cultivate some of the best vineyards in and around Langenlois with different soil types. Production Details:

  • Winery Website: Rudolph Rabl Winery
  • Vintage: 2016
  • Harvest method: By hand. An uncommonly warm, sunny and dry September provided the vintage year with a somewhat conciliatory conclusion: this enabled the clusters to achieve very good ripeness, while cooler nights toward the end of the month effected optimal aromatic development. A good further course of weather with occasional rainfall in autumn permitted a rather relaxed harvest without time constraints, ensuring development of grape material with pronounced ripeness and a good supply of nutrients. The 2016 vintage is already showing a varietally typical, fruity aromatic profile and good body, supported by a solid backbone of acidity. The moderate alcohol content of this year’s wines will also make for pleasant and enjoyable drinkability.
